Adelaide's director of coaching Murray Davis has emerged as an Essendon coaching candidate.

Davis has been part of the successful resurgence in Brisbane, and recently took a role at the Crows after a second consecutive premiership with the Lions.

Now he's among the names put forward for the Bombers role.

Hinkley's message to Ginnivan

Tasmania coach Ken Hinkley has made it clear that anyone uncontracted next year will be targeted by the Devils, and that includes Hawthorn's Jack Ginnivan.

The pair has a fiery past, which began during the 2024 finals series. Ginnivan's social media use coupled with Hinkley's aeroplane gesture lit up the AFL landscape, and was reignited last year when the cheeky Hawk performed an aeroplane celebration after a goal.

Ugle-Hagan, Suns begin talks on new deal

Gold Coast recruit Jamarra Ugle-Hagan is set to extend his time at the Suns as both parties begin talks on a new deal.

Ugle-Hagan headed to Queensland after a year on the sidelines last year for the Western Bulldogs.

The former Pick 1 has a 12-game trigger in his current contract, but won't hit it after managing only three appearances this year.

According to SEN, the Suns have not guaranteed Ugle-Hagan a spot at the club, but are open to the idea of extending him to 2027.

Greene future call flips

GWS captain Toby Greene was tipped to join Geelong, but recent reports have indicated he might remain at the Giants.

Greene is being courted by great mate and Cats forward Jeremy Cameron to move down to Geelong to finish his career.

Hinkley eyeing Fagan for Devils 

Inaugural Tasmania coach Ken Hinkley has sent shockwaves through the AFL landscape, and won't stop at attempting to lure the best of the best.

That includes Brisbane dual premiership coach Chris Fagan, who hails from the Apple Isle.

“Chris Fagan is a great of a game and he's a Tasmanian, so anything that Chris would offer and help and would be prepared to do for the Tasmania Devils, we'd be right on board with that,” Hinkley said.

“I'm sure he's going to keep a very close eye (on us).

“He's text me to say well done and congratulations, but Fages and I we have lots of communications regularly.

“I think it's really important that we have good connection between the senior coach and the head of football.

“We haven't identified the person or people that may be.”

Danger 2027

Geelong's Patrick Dangerfield is keen to continue playing next year, but admits there is a few things to tick off.

A new deal will put Dangerfield in range of 400 AFL games, and currently sits on 374.

“I'm pretty keen to play on,” he said on AFL 360.

“It's the best job in the world and you're a long-time retired, as plenty of former teammates will tell me.

“I'm keen to play on, but there's still a few things to tick off there.”
