Carlton are understood to be showing interest in contracted Geelong midfielder Lachie Fogarty, as the 21-year-old remains outside of Chris Scott's best 22, per AFL.com.au.

Fogarty featured on just six occasions in 2020, taking his total game tally to 23 since being drafted with the 22nd overall selection in 2017.

The Blues are believed to be keeping tabs on the utility's position at Kardinia Park, with Geelong looking to add Shaun Higgins to their midfield on top of gaining the services of Isaac Smith last week.

Fogarty remains in a similar position with Charlie Constable, with the pair showing promise at senior level but failing to cement their place in the side.
