Sydney are exploring trade options for midfielder George Hewett as the club reportedly battle with limited salary cap space, per SEN's Sam Edmund.

Hewett is contracted with the Swans until the end of 2021, with the club now open to trading the 24-year-old to a rival side.

The onballer was limited to just six games in 2020 after a back injury and surgery limited to playing time.

Despite the club's interest to move him on, Hewett remains happy to stay in the Harbour City.

The Swans' salary strain is effecting their move for West Coast tall Tom Hickey, with the club now looking to open space to gain the ruckman's services.

Port Adelaide have expressed their interest in Sydney defender Aliir Aliir, who completed a medical with the Power on Monday.
