Here are our AFL power rankings for round 2!

Each round, there are new movers and shakers in the league, good things and bad things happen to every team, so we at Zero Hanger will take you through where your club currently stands among the rest.

1. GWS (+1)

Their solid win over Collingwood sits Greater Western Sydney at the top of the power rankings this week. Without their star midfielder Tom Scully they still proved too strong and overcame the Pies by 16 points.

Next game: Sydney Swans at SCG, Saturday night.

2. Port Adelaide (+2)

The Power continued their good start to the season into the Easter weekend, knocking off Sydney comfortably by 23 points.

Young forward Todd Marshall led the way with three goals and Ollie Wines stayed dominant, racking up 35 disposals and the team doesn't seem to want to slow down just yet.

Next game: Brisbane Lions at Adelaide Oval, Saturday afternoon.

3. Adelaide (+3)

The Crows looked polished against Richmond during round two, convincingly putting them away, led by Rory Laird with 42 disposals and Josh Jenkins with five goals.

Next game: St. Kilda at Etihad Stadium, Saturday night.

4. Sydney (-1)

The Swans suffered a loss at the hands of a talented Port Adelaide but their list remains strong and will stay hopeful going in to round three.

Next game: GWS at SCG, Saturday night.

5. Richmond (-4)

They were humbled by a formidable Adelaide team this past weekend and will need to prove they can play tougher football in round three. The Tigers will quickly find out whether they enjoy playing with a target on their back as reigning premiers, or if they find it exhausting as the season goes on.

Next game: Hawthorn at MCG, Sunday afternoon.

6. Hawthorn (+2)

The Hawks played a very familiar brand of football on the weekend in their one-point victory of Geelong in a blockbuster match up.

There's no slowing down the Cats' superstar trio but they suppressed them enough to pull through. Tom Mitchell showed that he is one of the best ball-getters in the league and their forward line looked strong.

Next game: Richmond at MCG, Sunday afternooon.

7. Geelong (-)

Despite the narrow loss against the Hawks, Geelong are still looking strong and improvement is on the horizon.

Their star trio is still being juggled around, coach Chris Scott is trying to find the best fit for the team and even if what we're seeing isn't the final product, it's a pretty good team right now nonetheless.

Next game: West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, Sunday afternoon.

8. Melbourne (+1)

The Demons pushed the Lions back in their place, defeating them by 26 points despite the Lions making a run in the final quarter.

Melbourne, despite the concern, were able to steady up, execute accordingly and come away with the win.

Next game: North Melbourne at MCG, Saturday afternoon.

9. Essendon (-4)

This was a bad loss for Essendon, a game they had probably hoped they could comfortably win.

They gave up too many scoring opportunities to the Dockers and have fallen a few spots in this weeks power rankings.

Next game: Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium, Sunday afternoon.

10. Gold Coast (+7)

Star forward Tom Lynch had himself a statement game in his team's 34 point victory over Carlton, booting eight goals for himself.

Currently sitting third on the ladder, if they keep it up, their place will quickly rise in the power rankings.

Next game: Fremantle at Optus Stadium, Saturday afternoon.

11. Fremantle (+5)

Fremantle's impressive win has earned them a spot five places higher on the power rankings.

The Dockers were led by skipper Nat Fyfe to take down the Bombers on Saturday night.

Next game: Gold Coast Suns at Optus Stadium, Sunday afternoon.

12. West Coast (-)

The Eagles had a huge 51-point win over the Western Bulldogs on Easter day, which is enough to boost their percentage, but not enough to convince us to place them higher.

Next game: Geelong Cats at Optus Stadium, Sunday afternoon.

13. Brisbane (+2)

The Lions were beaten by Melbourne over the weekend, but they lost in competitive fashion. Brisbane showcased resilience and chopped away at the Demons lead in the final quarter, unlucky to prevail.

Next game: Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval, Saturday afternoon.

14. Collingwood (-1)

The Magpies just haven't caught a break yet, facing two strong teams to start the season and being beaten comfortably by both.

The Pies didn't roll over though, it was a hard fought 16 point loss at the hands of the Giants.

Next game: Carlton at the MCG, Friday night.

15. North Melbourne (+3)

OK, North!

The Kangaroos showed resilience and toughness in a huge and widely unexpected win against St. Kilda by 52 points on Good Friday.

Many had written off the Kangs for the 2018 campaign after just one round of action, but they've hit back and shown they can play some quality football.

Next game: Melbourne at MCG, Saturday afternoon.

16. St. Kilda (-6)

In a shock loss to North Melbourne the Saints have fallen significantly in the power rankings. It was thought to be a sure-win, but they were dominated throughout.

Next game: Adelaide at Etihad Stadium, Saturday night.

17. Carlton (-6)

Carlton came up against an interestingly talented Gold Coast Suns team and suffered a convincing 34 point loss. The Blues have started the season 0-2.

Next game: Collingwood at the MCG, Friday night.

18. Western Bulldogs (-4)

Poor Doggies. They're a team still trying to find their feet and didn't show any real fight in their 51-point loss to the Eagles.

Next game: Essendon at Etihad Stadium, Sunday afternoon
