The AFL website have begun their top 50 player countdown heading into the 2018 season, and following on from Wednesday's 50-41 countdown, have now released numbers 40-31 of the Players’ Annual top 50.
Five of the 10 players between 40-31 are new entries, with Melbourne's Clayton Oliver the highest new entry of the countdown so far, coming in at 31 after a breakout 2017 campaign.
Oliver averaged 30 disposals, 6.9 tackles and 6.6 clearances per game last season, as he took home Melbourne's best and fairest award.
Close behind him is newcomer Jeremy McGovern in at 33, with the Eagles' key defender announcing himself as one of the game's best intercept marks at the right time.
With McGovern out of contract at season's end, he's sure to sign a bid deal, regardless of whether or not he leaves Western Australia.
There's still room for the oldest player in the AFL on the list, with Hawthorn's Shaun Burgoyne coming in at 38.
The 35-year-old dropped 11 positions from last season's spot at 27, but was still good enough to belong among the game's best.
