The AFL's Match Review Officer has handed out two fines after the weekend's pre-season action, with Trent Cotchin and Jordan De Goey handed sanctions.
Cotchin, who has been charged with Misconduct, will be free to face Carlton for Richmond's Round 1 clash after the MRO assessed an incident involving Melbourne player James Harmes from Saturday's match.
It was of the MRO's view that Cotchin's actions warranted a sanction, deemed a fixed financial offence, handed a $1500 fine, $1000 with an early plea.
Collingwood Jordan De Goey has beenย fined $3000 after the MRO charged the Magpie with Rough Conduct for his tackle on Hawthorn ruckman Lloyd Meek during Thursday's pre-season match in Tasmania.
The MRO deemed De Goey's actions as careless conduct, high contact and low impact, resulting in a $3000 fine, down to $2000 with an early plea.
The charge will mean De Goey isย free to play Geelong at the MCG for Round 1.
GWS ruckman Braydon Preuss once again gained scrutiny of the MRO for his tackle on Gold Coast's Tom Berry over the weekend, but escaped any sanction.
