The AFL's plans of introducing a 19th license with the Tasmania Football Club is in danger as a motion of no confidence on Premier Jeremy Rockliff is to be filed.
Labor leader Dean Winter confirmed on Tuesday in a statement that a motion of no confidence would be moved at 10am, due to Rockliff's "financial mismanagement".
Greens leader Rosalie Woodruff confirmed to Winter that the Greens will support Labor's motion.
The motion comes after new cost estimations on the planned Macquaire Point Stadium ballooned out to $945 million, up from the intial $750 million figure.
If an election is triggered, the prospects of the stadium project will come under threat, and could therefore potentially put a line through the AFL's planned expansion given the league's desire for a roofed stadium in the Apple Isle.
"The political uncertainty that is currently unfolding in the Tasmanian Parliament is of great concern to the Tasmania Football Club," a club statement read.
I have spoken to the Leader of the Opposition Dean Winter and informed him that the Greens will support Laborโs motion of No Confidence in Jeremy Rockliffโs leadership.
I have informed the Premier. #politas

"Like the rest of the community, we are unsure what will happen today and what the impacts of any actions taken might be. What we do know is that uncertainty presents a serious risk for jobs, investment, and growth, and for the future of Tasmania Football Club.
"Tasmania Football Club remains steadfast on building a club for all Tasmanians. We are also steadfast on staying out of politics. We ask that our political leaders understand the implications of their actions and decisions on the future of our state for all Tasmanians, a future which we know Tasmania Football Club can play a significant part."
The Labor Party has supported a stadium being built, but seeks an outcome where the project is approved by both houses of Parliament.
