Melbourne will get a close look at father-son draft prospect Kalani White this weekend when the teenager suits up for the Casey Demons in the VFL.
White, the son of former Demons ruckman Jeff, is an exciting 198cm key position utility who has featured for the AFL Academy and the Allies so far this year.
He also played for Gold Coast's Academy in the Coates Talent League, making him tied to both the Suns and Melbourne.
The Broadbeach product will make his VFL debut on Saturday night for Casey when the Demons host Essendon's reserves at North Port Oval.
White is capable of being positioned as a forward target, a key defender or in the ruck, having taken on all three roles so far this season.
He'll come into the Casey side along with AFL trio Jai Culley, Matthew Jefferson and Harry Sharp, with Tom McDonald the only Melbourne-listed player coming out of the team, leaving 15 senior Demons in the side.
Casey and Essendon will clash at 7:10pm (AEST) on Saturday night, with a win for the Demons potentially taking them into the top six.
That game will also see the Bombers get their first look at Next Generation Academy talent Adam Sweid at the state league level.
Essendon also had fellow club-tied talent Hussien El Achkar feature in his first VFL game earlier this year, with the small forward booting three goals in a narrow loss to Brisbane.
White's Allies teammate Dan Annable will play his second VFL game in as many weeks on Sunday when Brisbane face GWS at Brighton Homes Arena, with the Lions Academy talent recording 18 disposals, seven inside 50s, five clearances and four intercept possessions in his debut against Williamstown last week.
