Another jewel to add to Brisbane's club-tied crown, with Redlands midfielder Dan Annable another potential top-five draft prospect linked to the reigning premiers.
The past three draft windows have seen the Lions add the Ascroft brothers, Jaspa Fletcher, Sam Marshall and Ty Gallop as priority access prospects, and Annable will follow in their footsteps in 2025.
Captaining the AFL Academy and Allies squads this year, Annable was a centrepiece in the engine room for every side he represented.
He earned best-afield honours in the AFL Academy's opener against Richmond's VFL outfit, while eight games for Brisbane's reserves in the second half of the year further buoyed Annable's position as a ready-made midfielder.
Add in his strong run in the Coates Talent League and at the U18s National Championships form, with a podium finish in the Larke Medal count arising from the latter, and 2025 proved to be a year of consistency for the highly-regarded teenager.
A smart ball user, good mover and inside-outside threat, Annable has emerged as a reliable ball winner who will press his case for a spot in Chris Fagan's side despite the star-studded pecking order in the Queensland capital.
A bid for Annable could come from Richmond at Picks 3 and 4, or Essendon with the two subsequent selections, as rivals look set to make the Lions pay full price for their latest linked draft gun.
