Western Bulldogs assistant coach Daniel Pratt has confirmed his interest in the vacant Carlton coaching gig.

Michael Voss handed his resignation earlier in the week, resulting in the Blues preparing for another search for a senior coach.

Pratt said he'd throw his hat in the ring for the Carlton job.

“I'm interested in taking my coaching as far as I can which would be in that type of role,” Pratt said on SEN.

“But the focus is on the now, it's still very early in the year.

“I've been really fortunate actually, I've been able to work at a lot of clubs that have had premiership success.

“I was able to do that with Bevo at Hawthorn years ago and the loyalty to him is why I came back to the Bulldogs. So I'll continue that loyalty.

“I'm sure at some point there'll be some conversations and I'm happy to talk about that when that happens.”

Pratt joined the AFL coaching ranks in 2014 after a playing career across North Melbourne and Brisbane.

He began at West Coast as a development coach, joining for Kangaroos teammate Adam Simpson

At the end of 2023, he joined the Bulldogs, reuniting with Luke Beveridge after the pair spent time together at Box Hill before Pratt's time at the Eagles.

He was named the AFLCA Assistant Coach of the Year in 2024.

Beveridge endorsed Pratt for the senior position, as well as fellow Bulldogs assistant Brendon Lade.

"When you consider Brendon Lade is right up there with doing all the yards. He's a big friendly giant. He's as capable and ready as anyone. Pratty is in the boat as well.

"I'd give them glowing references if I was asked the question. It's a bit like putting your players up for All-Australian selection. You don't want to put the noses out of joint for the Carlton establishment who are going to pick their coach.

"But if they make the call, I'd definitely be in those guys' corner. I think they're ready for an opportunity."
