The Adelaide Crows have extended the contract of young forward Luke Nankervis for another two years through to the end of the 2025 season.

Nankervis joined the club through the 2021 Pre-Season Draft as an agile half-forward and has subsequently played with the Crows' SANFL team.

He played an important role in their run towards a preliminary final berth, picking up 25 disposals and a goal in their qualifying final victory against Norwood and a handy 18 disposals and a goal in their semi-final defeat to North Adelaide.

Adelaide General Manager of List Management and Strategy Justin Reid stated that the Crows were excited about Nankervis' future with the club.

"To come in and navigate his first AFL pre-season then have an immediate impact in our SANFL team after playing very limited football due to Covid in the two years prior is very pleasing," Reid said.

"Luke is very good aerially and can play a range of roles for our team and we will look forward to watching him continue to develop this season."

Nankervis said he was excited to work on his game this year after a strong finish to last season.

"It's great that the Club is going to put the time into me and back me in to do the work," he said.

"Towards the end of last season I felt I started to show a bit more and finished strongly, my footy brain is better and my body feels stronger so I'm excited to see what this year brings."

The Sandringham Dragons product is yet to make his AFL debut, with Nankervis looking to push his case for a chance at senior level this year.
