Adelaide senior coach Matthew Nicks has confirmed that Riley Thilthorpe won't travel with the club to Ballarat to take on the Western Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking to media on Wednesday, Nicks confirmed that Thilthorpe will be managed for the Round 10 clash as the Crows hunt their sixth win this season.

The 20-year-old was assessed for knee soreness during Round 9's win over St Kilda, but was cleared of serious injury, with Nicks revealing that the week off is for precautionary reasons.

Thilthorpe has played eight games this season to take his career tally to 33 games. The young Crow has kicked eight goals in 2023, while averaging 10.6 disposals per game.

The Crows coach revealed that Elliot Himmelberg will join the side for his third game this season in Thilthorpe's absence.

Tom Doedee will be replaced by Nick Murray after suffering a delayed concussion after Round 9's win, with the 22-year-old set to return after missing last week due to concussion.

Elsewhere on the club's injury list, Shane McAdam remains 2-3 weeks away with a quad injury but has returned to training with the main group.

Adelaide will face the Bulldogs on Saturday, May 20 at Mars Stadium at 2:10pm AEST.
