Adelaide key defender Mark Keane will miss tomorrow night's clash against Collingwood at Adelaide Oval due to an illness.

Keane has played in Adelaide's last five games after undergoing surgery to deal with a fractured right leg and ankle that ruled him out for most of the season.

Adelaide senior coach Matthew Nicks addressed the media this morning and confirmed the addition of backman Nick Murray to the team to replace the sick Keane.

"You would've noticed Mark Keane wasn't out there (at Captain's run)," Nicks said.

"Unfortunately, Keaney's crook; he has been all week.

"It's been one that's just stuck around, so he's not going to play.

"Nick Murray will play for us, so that's straightforward. Muz has been in really strong form in the SANFL, so it's disappointing for Mark, but reinforces the strength of the squad and how important it is."

Murray is coming off a 16-disposal and 5-mark game in the SANFL in a win against West Adelaide and a 28-disposal game against Glenelg the week before.

His last AFL game was back in Round 15 against Melbourne, where he recorded 17 disposals, seven marks and seven contested possessions in the 79-62 win.

Darcy Fogarty will enter the first week of his three-game ban for striking Sydney Swans defender Harry Cunningham in the second quarter of Friday night's game at the SCG and won't play this week.

Veteran forward Taylor Walker is set to take his place inside 50 after being managed last week.

Additionally, Crows forward Luke Pedlar suffered a hamstring injury in the Crows' Round 15 SANFL game on Saturday and left the ground in the fourth quarter after lunging for a spoil.

Defender Hugh Bond will also miss several weeks with a medical hamstring strain.

The Crows will unveil their final team today at 6.20 pm (AEST).

Adelaide will take on Collingwood at Adelaide Oval on Thursday night at 7pm.
