A lack of scoring power is Geelong’s biggest problem according to Garry Lyon.

The Melbourne legend believes the Cats’ off-season hasn’t helped matters.

Geelong lost Daniel Menzel to Sydney, and failed to replace him with a ready-made, out-and-out forward.

“My enduring concern if I’m a Geelong supporter is their ability to kick goals outside of Tom Hawkins,” Lyon told SEN Breakfast.

According to Lyon, the only viable candidate to assist Hawkins is rising star Esava Ratugolea and that off-season signings Luke Dahlhaus and Gary Rohan won’t provide the necessary support.

“I don’t think they’ve addressed it, but I suppose Esava Ratugolea could be one that steps up and provides that sort of support.”
