Former Bulldogs great Luke Darcy has revealed from reading The Age that one of Collingwood's favourite sons is set to leave the country.

"Nathan Buckley is safe, we know that, he couldn't have coached any better. You've got the job for life, Ed," Darcy said on Triple M's Hot Breakfast

"But one of the most loved people at Collingwood is so heartbroken by what happened, they are going to move overseas and they're not coming back on a permanent basis.

"...and I speak of Joffa, the gold jacket wearing head of the cheer squad is now moving to Fiji to a remote little village."

The gold jacket will be handed off to the rest of the Collingwood cheer squad for next season.

Collingwood President and Triple M co-host Eddie McGuire confirmed the departure saying Joffa contacted him a few months ago.

"He actually rang me a couple of months ago saying this was on," McGuire said.

McGuire touched on what a valuable contribution Joffa has been to the Collingwood Football Club and the work he does with the homeless and epilepsy sufferers in Melbourne is fantastic.

"He raises so much money for epilepsy, his daughter Em has had epilepsy since she was a little girl."

McGuire is confident Joffa won't be able to resist watching the Pies at the MCG next season,

"We'll get him back."

Hope the internet cafes work in Fiji Joffa!
