The Saints proved many wrong in 2023 with the return of Ross Lyon, booking
themselves a home final in their return to September.
The question will now be whether they can hold their place in the top eight or potentially go further, with the Moorabbin club taking to the trade and draft periods to improve their stocks. A more challenging fixture is sure to test the Saints, but the experience that Lyon brings is sure to aid their run through 2024.
2024 expectations
While it may be a similar story to last year in that the Saints have not been backed by most to land a spot in the top half of the ladder, those within the four walls of RSEA Park are sure to have their sights set on another finals finish.

Linton Street is home to an exciting young crop of players ready to reach new heights, with their current trajectories set to suggest the Saints might just be on the up. If โRoss the Boss' can get his gameplan intact and keep his list healthy, St Kilda should be there or there abouts by September.
Star Player: Jack Sinclair
An All-Australian and best and fairest win in both 2022 and 2023, Sinclair has risen to be the leading man for St Kilda with his dash and disposal. The mulleted half-back has increased his minutes in the middle, and equally seen his impact on the game rise, offering plenty of speed to Ross Lyon's midfield group that is heavily reliant on inside
ball winners.
Sinclair will be a strong chance to make it three Trevor Barker Awards in a row but you can expect some competition from the likes of Callum Wilkie, Max King and Mitch Owens.
