The 2023 WAFL fixture has been released, with a mouth-watering grand final rematch to open the new season on Good Friday.

West Perth will unveil their 2022 premiership flag at Pantanet Stadium on April 7 before they host Claremont, who will be out for redemption after losing last year's season decider by 12 points.

That match will be one of three to take place on Good Friday, with East Perth hosting Swan Districts at Leederville Oval before Peel Thunder and East Fremantle go head-to-head at Lane Group Stadium later that evening.

The Round 1 draw will conclude on Saturday, April 8 when Perth and Subiaco clash at Mineral Resources Park, with South Fremantle hosting the other Sunday fixture when they welcome West Coast's WAFL outfit to Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

The 20-round home and away season will conclude on Saturday, August 26, when all five matches will play at the same time.

The regular season will be followed by a four-week finals series, with the WAFL Grand Final scheduled for Sunday, September 24.

ANZAC Day, WA Day, Mental Health Round, and NAIDOC Rounds feature as highlights in the 2023 WAFL fixture.

The 2023 State Game between Western Australia and South Australia will be held in Adelaide this year on Saturday, May 20, with that weekend being the league's sole bye round.
