The start of the 2018 AFL season has been riddled by injuries, and while some clubs have been hit harder than others, the trend of stars getting injured has been a league-wide epidemic.

One of the most disappointing injuries in recent weeks was Gold Coast's loss of Tom Lynch up forward due to a minor knee injury, and this could affect his value as he enters free agency this off-season.

Additionally, Cats defender Harry Taylor has been a huge loss for Geelong over the past few weeks and upon return, the Cats will be welcome him back with open arms as soon as possible. The Cats have high expectations to make a push for the premiership, and Gary Ablett's early season hamstring issues have dampened the hype just a little.

After leading the Coleman Medal race in the first few rounds of the season, Lance Franklin has stepped away from playing after admitting to suffering from a bruised heel. His Coleman Medal chances are in serious jeopardy, but more importantly, Sydney will be eagerly awaiting his impending return.

Carlton's defensive structure suffered a major setback before the season started, with Sam Docherty out for the year with an ACL injury. You can bet that the Blues wish they had him in their side right about now.

So in the same sense as an All-Australian side or a team of the week side, here is a collection of players that are currently missing for their side through injury.
