GWS coach Adam Kingsley has hinted at a forward reshuffle following the impressive performances from Josaia Delana and Nathan Wardius in the VFL.
The Giants, known for their scoring prowess, have failed to kick winning scores in the past fortnight, and face cross-town rivals Sydney in a mouth-watering contest.
Delana - who is one of two GWS players who hail from the western Sydney suburbs - has been dominating in the reserves as a pressure forward, and could be brought in to harass the Swans defenders.
"We very well might," Kingsley said on seeing a Delana debut.
"We discuss the team after training, and he's in the squad, but we've liked the way he's played at VFL level.
"He plays that small forward role really well. He's got a want to chase and tackle, and that's what we love about him.
"He certainly will be in our discussions."
Wardius' VFL form has almost warranted a senior selection, but Kingsley explains his role as vastly different to Delana, who has seemingly leapfrogged the forward.
As for Wardius, he comes up against fellow teammates Jake Stringer and Toby Greene in the senior side, given his size, height and athletic profile.
The untried medium-sized forward has kicked 17 goals in the past month, and if he "persists", his AFL opportunity will come, according to his coach.
The pressure is on Stringer and Aaron Cadman to perform, while Jake Riccardi could also feel the pressure of those in VFL.
"Nathan plays a slightly different role to Jo," Kingsley added.
"They're not quite the same players doing the same things, and required to do the same things. But we've been really happy with Nathan Wardius.
"He's hitting the scoreboard. He's contributing strongly to our front-half scoring, so he's in great shape, and if he persists and continues on, his chance may come pretty soon."
Among those missing the Sydney Derby is Conor Stone, who was omitted from the senior side following some disappointing performances, as well as veteran Josh Kelly.
Kelly has been sidelined with a sore hip and is likely to miss up to a month of football, to allow the discomfort to settle.
Kingsley said it was a case of "intervening" right now before the issue becomes unmanageable.
"It's got to a point where it's not allowing him to perform," Kingsley said.
"It's been a gradual buildup, but we'd rather intervene right now and fix it, than have it linger and potentially become something more than what it is."
The Giants will release Sunday's teams at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday.
