There are already six teams that cannot win the premiership, according to former AFL greats Garry Lyon and Tim Watson.
There is currently no clear flag favourite in what shapes as one of the most open seasons in recent memory.
Speaking SEN Breakfastย yesterday, Lyon admitted that the race is as open as he's ever seen it putting a line through six clubs.
โI think this the most winnable Grand Final in my time of watching football seriously,โ he said.
โI think this is as wide open as I have ever, ever seen the game. It is so winnable, it so winnable. Iโve never seen it more open.
โClearly Adelaide canโt, Fremantle canโt.
โI donโt think the Swans can win. I donโt think Gold Coast can win. Probably not Essendon and Melbourne.
โThe Demons canโt because the Demons canโt do anything forward of the centre, again.โ
Watson added: โEssendon canโt win the Grand Final.
โThey havenโt shown enough to suggest that they are going to be one the best performers.โ
