Patrick Cripps is entering his eighth season at Carlton and coach David Teague is comfortable that his sensational skipper will stay.

Since his debut at Carlton, the co-captain is yet to play a finals game, but with more push and extra recruits the chances are soaring.

The 25-year-old has played 118 matches in his career and averaged 20 disposals, five tackles and six clearances just in 2020.

Cripps' contract is over as of the end of next season, giving him the option of free agency, but Teague believes that his star man isn't going anywhere.

“Knowing Patrick and the way he’s committed and the conversations that we’ve had in the off-season in terms of how to make this club better, I feel extremely comfortable that Patrick is so committed to this club,” Teague told SEN’s Bob and Andy.

“He’s a large piece of where this club’s going. I don’t think I need to have those conversations.

“I love working with him, I love what he brings to our playing group both on the field and off the field.

“I think he’ll understand his importance and the impact he has on the people around him.”

Cripps has achieved many accolades since joining the Blues in 2013, including being the youngest three-time John Nicholls Medal winner and a holder of a Leigh Matthews Trophy.
