Sydney youngster Corey Warner has penned a two-year extension to remain at the club.
Amid a media circus surrounding his older brother's (Chad) future, the younger Warner has gone quietly about his career to date, but has started to make inroads into the Swans senior side.
Locked away until the end of 2027, the Pick 40 from East Fremantle has played nine AFL games, but has shown plenty of promise in the VFL.
Warner, playing predominantly as a half-forward, has 43 state-league outings to his name, averaging nearly 20 disposals, three marks and just under three tackles a game.
"It's huge. I've been at the club for a few years now, so to continue here, it's definitely a privilege," Warner said.
"Coxy has been really good. He's always backing me in, always pushing me to take on the game, and I've felt confident off the back of that. My forward role is quite team based so to continue to do that will stand me in good stead.
"I'm very thankful to the club for giving me this opportunity."
Swans EGM of Football Leon Cameron said the recommitment by the club to Warner is a true testament to his work behind the scenes.
"To his credit, Corey has had a fantastic pre-season and has prepared himself extremely well for the upcoming season," Cameron said.
"His VFL form has been strong in the last couple of years and we feel as though he's ready to take the next step at AFL level.
"He is an extremely hard-working player and a popular member of the playing group, so we are thrilled he's committed to the next couple of seasons."
Warner was one of the standout performers in the club's 2km time trial during the pre-season, and was prominent in the pre-season clash against Gold Coast.
The 21-year-old could see some senior minutes in the wake of Errol Gulden's fractured ankle.
After locking away the younger Warner, all eyes will avert to Chad's decision, as he weighs up a future in his home state Western Australia or to remain put.
It is understood, according toย AFL Media's Cal Twomey, that Chad is considering a two-year extension at the club, which will marry up with his brother's new deal.
The two-year extension will also get Warner to free agency amid heavy interest from West Coast and Fremantle.
Sydney will host Hawthorn on Friday at the SCG to begin their 2025 campaign.
