Legendary Sydney Swans super-fan Kenny Williams is set to be remembered today in a funeral ceremony after the beloved supporter tragically passed away at the age of 93.

"Kenny" as he was known to all, was a devoted supporter of the Sydney Swans football club and was an iconic figure at SCG games, he could be seen sitting behind the goals and barracking passionately and loudly for the red and the white.

Williams was born in South Melbourne, the original home of the club, and moved to Sydney in 1949 to work as a jockey. The club would soon follow him up to the Harbour City and become the first AFL club in Sydney.

It was after then-head coach, Ron Barassi, invited Kenny to run water for the team in the 1990s, that Kenny became a spiritual part of the club and a part-time employee.

Often seen in the middle of the team's victory song, singing the team song louder than any of the players, he was as much a part of the club as anyone.

The iconic memories of him signing passionately after the 2012 Sydney Swans premiership and almost getting hit by a football aimed by then St Kilda Player Tony Lockett at the SCG will carry his memory in football folk-law for many years to come.

He was also known to invite players over for dinner at his place, with Jude Bolton and Kurt Tippet just some of the names he was only happy to open his doors to.

Both current and former Sydney Swans players paid tribute to their number one fan, calling him a mentor and a friend.

Swans fans are set to farewell him today as his cortege will be taken down Driver Avenue alongside the SCG.
