New Gold Coast recruit Jarrad Grant has broken a bone in his wrist after a bicycle accident during pre-season training.

Grant has undergone surgery, but the Suns expect the former Bulldogs forward to be fit for the club's final NAB Challenge match on March 11.

“Jarrad injured his wrist after he came off his bike during a cycling session on Saturday morning. Scans that afternoon revealed he had fractured a bone in his wrist and he had surgery on Tuesday to insert a pin," general manager of football operations Marcus Ashcroft said.

“We anticipate that Jarrad will be in a position to play in our final NAB challenge match of the pre-season, but fortunately he will be able to maintain his fitness base during his time in rehabilitation."
