Harvey is currently serving as Collingwood's interim coach with aspirations to be the man to lead the team into their next chapter.

Speaking on Sportsday, Harvey said that he is unsure what his future looks like beyond the end of this season but he will cross that bridge when it comes.

“I had a really upfront (discussion) with (football boss) Graham Wright initially when I took the job,” Harvey said.

“My brief was pretty clear and that was to get the most out of the last nine games to set a platform to go forward so it was clear for me.

“They said they would be starting the process for next year and would touch base to me at the right time as to my part in that.

“I have my hands full until next week and then I’ll touch base with Graham about whatever the process would be if there is one and then sit down and come to an arrangement.

Collingwood are currently looking at Don Pyke, Brad Scott, Michael Voss and possibly Alistair Clarkson for the role of head coach with Harvey quietly going about his business as interim coach.

Harvey has been linked with a move to West Coast as an assistant to Adam Simpson should he not be appointed as permanent head coach of Collingwood.
