Adelaide Crows spearhead Taylor Walker has moved into outright first position for goals kicked outside of Victoria in V/AFL history.

His goal in the first half of the Crows clash with the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba is his 555th major outside of the competition's beating heart in Victoria, and it moved him clear of Eagles legend Josh Kennedy.

The rejuvenation of the Broken Hill product has been one of the AFL's best storylines in recent years, with the 36-year-old "Texan" staving off calls for his retirement to claim a first All-Australian blazer in 2023, some 15 years into his storied career.

Given some of the other names on the leaderboard, it is no small feat for the newest member of the Crows 300-game club.

The distinction adds to a glittering career - one characterised by seven club leading goalkicker gongs, distinguished captaincy, a Showdown Medal and the honour of being the Crows all-time leading goalkicker.

The beloved Walker will look to add another Showdown Medal to his CV when the two Adelaide sides resume their hostilities on Friday night.
