Out-of-contract Blues skipper Marc Murphy is set to re-sign with the club, according to a report by Sam McClure.

The star midfielder's playing future has been the subject of rumours in recent weeks, while Murphy himself has admitted to be weighing up his options.

But that has all been put to bed now that the 30-year old is posed to sign a new two-year deal, tying him to the club until at least the end of the 2020 season.

It has been an indifferent year for Murphy, who has only played five games this season due to a nagging foot injury.

The silky onballer starred in his return from a six-game absence against the Power, racking up 28 disposals and kicking a goal in Carlton's 21-point loss at the MCG.
