AFL commentator Anthony Hudson believes West Coast ruckman Scott Lycett will be playing for St Kilda next season.

The Saints are in desperate need for a ruckman, while Lycett is a free agent and the Eagles are looking to secure Andrew Gaff's signature before anybody else's.

Lycett has played every game for the Eagles this season, and is now their number one ruckman with Nic Naitanui unavailable.

“It sounds like Scott Lycett (to St Kilda), that is to me, going to happen,” Hudson told SEN’s Crunch Time on Saturday.

“I think their offer is significantly greater than that of West Coast and Port Adelaide.

“So I think that’s likely to happen.”

Lycett is averaging 13.4 disposals, 3.2 marks and 20.8 hitouts per game this season, in arguably the most consistent campaign of his career.
