AFL.com.au's Mitch Cleary has reported the Brisbane Lions have emerged as a smokey and entered the race to sign Jamie Elliott, joining Melbourne and Hawthorn to sign the gun forward.

After Brisbane's strong 2019 season, the Lions have emerged as a serious threat to sign Elliot in the hopes to add more fire power to their forward line.

The Pies remain in the dark over Elliott's plans for 2020 after meeting with the small forward at club headquarters on Thursday morning.
