Three clubs are reportedly leading the race for GWS star Stephen Coniglio, with Hawthorn, Carlton and St Kilda the top potential suitors.

According to the Herald Sun, talks between Coniglio and his management will pick up again over the next fortnight, as manager Tom Petroro from TLA-Stride Sports returns from an overseas holiday.

After the Giants re-signed Josh Kelly earlier this year, Coniglio is now the hottest off-contract player at the club, and potentially around the AFL.

The midfielder started the year in fine form, and has averaged 28.6 disposals, 3.5 marks, 5.9 clearances and 4.4 inside 50s from his eight games so far this season.

Coniglio has been named for the Giants this weekend, after missing their round nine clash with a finger injury.

  1. “Could Stephen Coniglio be heading back to Victoria?”

    Stephen Coniglio isn’t from Victoria.

He played for Swan Districts in the WAFL before being drafted by GWS.
