Carlton is now targetting a mid-season return for injured forward Charlie Curnow, according to AFL journalist Tom Browne.
Browne tweeted on Monday morning that the Blues are "taking a long term approach" with Curnow after his latest knee setback last month.

I hope Curnow gets back ASAP. Donโt get me wrong. But when I revealed / reported the set back, a lot of the club language was it wouldnโt interrupt his pre season / itโs an 8 week set back. Itโs fair to say that was significantly underplaying it

The 23-year old recently underwent surgery on the same troublesome knee that held him out of the entire 2020 season.
The club initially indicated that the setback would not significantly interrupt his pre-season, however, AFL Media'sย Riley Beveridge has since reported that he faced a two-month delay from his originally slated January return date.
Curnow missed most of the 2019 season due to a knee injury before dislocating his knee while playing basketball with friends in October that year.
He fractured his knee cap just a month later then suffered a suffered a hairline stress response in April which ultimately held him out of the 2020 season.
The athletic big man has kicked 77 goals from 58 AFL games since making his debut in 2016.
