Collingwood tall Dan McStay has undergone surgery to fix a nagging shoulder injury that disrupted his 2025 campaign, according to AFL Media's Josh Gabelich.
McStay was dropped for Collingwood's September campaign after dealing with shoulder soreness in the run-in to the finals, which has been revealed to be a labral issue that the recent surgery seeks to repair.
Gabelich stated that the surgery will take four months to recover from, seeing the key forward miss the start of Collingwood's pre-season.
However, Collingwood is confident McStay can return to full training after the Christmas break in January, and will start on a modified program in December.

McStay has featured in 37 games since joining Collingwood via unrestricted free agency in 2022 and has been dealt a cruel bout of injuries, suffering an MCL injury in their one-point preliminary final win against GWS, which meant he missed out on their 2023 premiership.
He kicked 19 goals from 18 matches in 2025.
More to come...
