Port Adelaide went to the market in the off-season, landing prized recruits Tom Rockliff, Steven Motlop and Jack Watts, settling for an 'our time is now' mentality.

However, as we approach the beginning of the season, there are a couple of question marks surrounding some of their fitness levels with niggling injuries. Yet, while they have had a few niggles, everyone looks set to step onto Adelaide Oval against the Dockers on Sunday.

Captain Travis Boak is one of those who are now confirmed for their opening round against Fremantle.

With tightness in his right hamstring ruling him out of their second JLT match against cross-town rivals, Adelaide, he looks set to return on Sunday.

"I'll be right... I trained a bit on Saturday, I've got to get through Tuesday and Thursday, but it feels really good," Boak told reporters on Monday.

Star-recruit Tom Rockliff (knee) and Sam Powell-Pepper (shoulder) both look to set to pencil their name in for their first game of the season after overcoming their injuries respectively.

While Rockliff is yet to play a game in his new colours, his new captain believes they wont hold him back ahead of this week's matchup.

"He's had a fantastic pre-season, he's done all the work apart from a couple weeks where we had to slow him down a little bit."

It will be a near full-strength side if those three can recover in time, with Jasper Pittard (hamstring) and Matthew Broadbent [ankle] the only players on their injury list, while star forward Robbie Gray is suspended for the first game of the season.

Pittard's absence will open the door for young defender, Riley Bonner. While he has played just four games in his career, Boak has praised the young man, who has the ability to replace Pittard's run and carry off the half-back line, something the Port relied on during 2017.

"What he adds is a lot of composure through the half-back line, a beautiful kick and he takes the game on," Boak said of Bonner.

"You've got to have those players coming off half-back and really want to create."
