Port Adelaide will take no risks with key forward Mitch Georgiades ruled out of the Powers qualifying final on Friday night.
Georgiades suffered a hamstring injury last week and despite pulling up quite well, he won't be ready to go this weekend according to coach Ken Hinkley.
Speaking to media ahead of the start of the finals series, Hinkley said no risks would be taken with the NAB Rising Star contender so early in the finals.
"It just wasn't worth taking the risk (playing Georgiades)," Hinkley said.
"Mitch's scans were okay, he got through training okay, but we don't want to risk making (his hamstring) worse. I'd expect him to be available for our next game."
Hinkley went on to confirm that Orazio Fantasia would be selected for the game against Geelong on Friday night.
The always-open Port Adelaide coach also gave an insight into a key defensive matchup for the weekend. Hinkley said that Trent McKenzie would get the first crack at Tom Hawkins.
Hawkins has got the better of the Power defence in recent times but Hinkley is backing in the booming left-footer to get the job done.
"It depends where Geelong send their forwards as to where we will send our defenders," said Hinkley.
"But I'd expect Trent McKenzie to be standing next to Tom Hawkins early in the game."
