Collingwood have revealed that Tasmanian Brody Mihocek will debut for the club this Sunday against the Dockers at the MCG.

The 26-year old, who was recruited from Port Melbourne, has played well as a defender in the Pies' VFL side this season, but earned the senior call-up after a best afield performance on the weekend, where he booted two goals as a forward.

"Brody has played both forward and back through his long VFL career. He may have been wondering if he would ever get on a list, but he's been a really good story for us," Buckley told reporters at training on Thursday.

"Brody has been first class since he came in. He is really humble and unassuming and has been rewarded; we're looking forward to seeing how he goes. He will play forward and has been there for the last couple of weeks. It's exciting for him."

The Magpies coach said that Daniel Wells will be available to take on Fremantle if he pulls up well from training, while Sam Murray is "in the mix."
