Key-position pair Dan McStay and Billy Frampton have both been tied to potential moves to Collingwood ahead the upcoming trade period, with the duo off-contract at Brisbane and Adelaide respectively this season.

McStay has long been linked to a return to his home state of Victoria, with the Lions forward able to exercise his rights as a free agent in 2022, with the Magpies seen as the likely landing spot for the 27-year-old.

A contract priced at $3 million over five years has reportedly been offered to McStay to make the move to Olympic Park, an offer the Eastern Ranges product is expected to accept.

But amid a premiership push with Brisbane, a race that also consists of rivals Collingwood, McStay is paying little attention to the ongoing speculation surrounding his name.

"Just keep speculating, do whatever you want," McStay said, via AFL.com.au.

"I didn't really read or hear much about it. I don't have any social media or watch those shows.

"It doesn't really faze me. People are going to talk, people are going to speculate … let them do that and I'll just focus on my footy. I've felt like the last few weeks I've let my footy do the talking."

McStay would be seen as the Magpies' next first-string forward under Craig McRae, sharpening the spear that already consists of Brody Mihocek, Ash Johnson, Jamie Elliott and Jack Ginnivan.

But the 195cm-tall key-forward isn't the only name tied to Collingwood, with Giant Bobby Hill, Sun Brayden Fiorini and the aforementioned Frampton also seen as targets for the Magpies.

While Fiorini is contracted, both Hill and Frampton are yet to confirm their future beyond this year, with the latter holding his exit interview at West Lakes this week.

According to 9 News Adelaide's Josh Money, Frampton is strongly considering the exit at the Crows, while confirming the Magpies have made contact.

Frampton can be utilised as a versatile key-position cog in Collingwood's system, showing an ability to be positioned at either end of the ground this year.

“I wouldn’t mind sticking around,” he told News Corp.

“I love the boys, I love the place but for my career the best move might be to move on so we’ll see.”

Opportunities have been scarce however, with the 25-year-old managing just 24 matches at AFL level across a five-year career that has included spells with the Crows and Port Adelaide.

Hill is seen likely to request a trade to Collingwood 12 months after seeking a move to Victoria, with a deal between GWS and Essendon failing to land.

Collingwood may hinge any future pursuits on the outcomes of off-contract star Jordan De Goey and ruckman Brodie Grundy, who has been linked with a move to Melbourne.
