Collingwood ruckman Brodie Grundy has signed a three-year contract extension that will see him remain at the Pies until at least the end of the 2020 season.

The 23-year-old joined Collingwood with the 18th pick in the 2012 national draft, and is excited to continue playing at the club that gave him his shot.

“I love the football club. I love playing here,” Grundy told collingwoodfc.com.au.

“I really enjoy playing on the MCG and running out with my teammates. I enjoy the comradery I have with them.”

Grundy is enjoying arguably his most consistent season of senior football in 2017, with the ruckman playing Collingwood's first 19 games before he was suspended for two matches for a tackle on North Melbourne's Ben Brown.

Over the course of the season, Grundy is averaging 18.3 disposals, 37 hitouts and 3.4 marks per game, and is a chance for the All-Australian 40-man squad given his strong campaign.

With his 82 games yielding just one final, Grundy is keen to help Collingwood return to September football, and is spurred on by those who were in his draft class in 2012.

“Jake Stringer’s premiership is something that really drives me,” Grundy said.

“Those guys are my age. I look at them and I feel pretty jealous.

“I’m really keen to get that feeling for our group.”
