GWS midfielder Josh Kelly is set to miss the next three weeks after sustaining a calf injury against Brisbane on Sunday night.

Kelly suffered the grade one calf tear in the final term of his side's loss to the Lions, with GWS football manager Wayne Campbell confirming the star would be sidelined for the Giants' upcoming key stretch of matches.

“At this stage, it probably looks like three weeks,” Campbell said.

“It could be a week either side of that, but at this stage, he’ll certainly miss this weekend and probably a couple after that.”

GWS face Richmond this weekend, before host Collingwood and travelling to Adelaide to face the Power.

It's not all bad on the injury front for the Giants, with Lachie Whitfield set to return this weekend.

“At this stage, he’ll certainly play this week,” Campbell said.

“He trained last Thursday, had a big session on Saturday as well and should be ready to go on the wide expanses of the MCG against Richmond”.
