Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury has signed a one-year extension.

The new deal will tie him the five-time Copeland Trophy winner to the club until the end of the 2021 season.

The 32-year old is set to break several records in 2020. He will break Tony Shaw's Collingwood games record of 313, Nathan Buckley's record of 161 games as the Pies skipper and Kevin Barlett's all-time MCG games record of 200.

Pendlebury was thrilled to recommit for an extra season and is as motivated as ever by the direction of the club.

“We’ve got our list in solid shape from a talent perspective and a strong sense of purpose; what we want to do and how we want to do it," he told collingwoodfc.com.au.

"I’m proud of our program and I was keen to remain involved with it.
