Carlton will hand an AFL debut to first-round draft pick Liam Stocker on Sunday when they clash with North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.

The Blues were involved with a live trade with Adelaide last year, in which the Blues and Crows swapped 2019 first round picks to allow Carlton to grab Stocker with pick 19.

“Liam Stocker will play. He’s had a few really solid games in the VFL,” Bolton said.

“Being in your first year, when you come from the NAB League to a real systematic game, he’s been learning that under Dale Amos and Shane Watson.

“It’s a great opportunity for him and a great chance for our defenders who have been working really well together to give ’Stock’ a go at half-back.”

Carlton coach Brendon Bolton confirmed the news during his press conference on Friday, while also telling the media Charlie Curnow will return to the line-up.
