Brisbane-linked AFL Draft prospect Dan Annable looms as an exciting midfield talent who could further bolster the reigning premiers' engine room ensemble from 2026 onwards.
The Lions Academy prospect is the subject ofย Craft of the Draft'sย second episode in the 'Introducing' series, dissecting a prospect's leading traits and attributes ahead of their draft campaign.
Annable's strength, decision-making, tackling and acceleration as a ball-winner for the Allies and Lions Academy in 2024 saw the teenager put his name forward as a leading prospect for the early periods of the season ahead.
"Through most of his talent pathway career in the past couple of years we've seen that he can play in the midfield, which speaks to his conditioning. He's cleary got the ability to cover the ground very, very well,"ย Craft of the Draftย analyst Jonty Ralpsmith said of Annable.
"He gets to lots of contests and is able to spread very soundly as well. He's always looking to get to that next contest, be a threat on transition or run defensively.
"He's got sneaky acceleration which adds another string to his bow. It helps him win clearances, it gives him some power and it enables him to lay some rundown tackles too."
