Fremantle ruckman Rory Lobb is set for an extended stint on the sidelines with a foot injury.

Scans revealed that the big man sustained a stress fracture during his side's win over Collingwood last week in a major blow for the Dockers.

The 26-year old was enjoying an instrumental 2019 after crossing from GWS in the off-season, averaging higher disposal, hit-out, clearance and contested possession numbers than in his time at the Giants.

Football manager Peter Bell said the club was behind Lobb in his road to recovery.

“The club is extremely disappointed for Rory,” Bell told the club website.

“Since returning to Fremantle, Rory has impressed everyone with his application and talent.

“Rory had been in excellent form in the ruck and in the past two weeks has produced outstanding games competing against Stefan Martin and Brodie Grundy.

“The club will support Rory through this challenge and we know that Rory will rehabilitate his injury with the utmost professionalism.

“Given the recent lower leg and foot injuries to key talls, an assessment of training and medical assessment protocols will be conducted to ensure we are operating at best practice. “

No timeframe has been put on when Lobb will return.
