GWS coach Adam Kingsley says untried ruckman Nick Madden is a "reasonable" chance to debut against Port Adelaide.
The Giants will miss Kieren Briggs for up to three weeks, as he manages an ongoing ankle issue, putting Madden up on deck.
The 21-year-old, who graduated from the club's academy in 2022, has put together a string of impressive performances in the VFL, averaging 19.2 disposals, 33.1 hit-outs, 3.7 marks and 2.9 tackles so far this year.
Previously, in Briggs' absence, Kingsley has opted to use veteran Lachlan Keeffe, as well as forward Jake Riccardi.
"Yep," Kingsley said confidently of his decision.
"We'll discuss it in match committee. I know which way I want to go, but we'll allow the coaches to have a voice and nut it out, and see where we land.
"We have all those options available to us."
Kingsley confirmed that livewire forward Brent Daniels will make his long-awaited return to the senior side.
Daniels was last seen in Round 4 against West Coast, and has been sidelined since with a unique abdominal injury.
"He's really important for us, his feet around stoppage are some of the best in our team. His decision making, his ability to play multiple positions and finishing are elite levels, so we need him back in our team," Kingsley said.
Midfielder Finn Callaghan is expected to be available next week.
GWS is also weighing up an off-field role for veteran Callan Ward once he has surgery on his ACL tear from last week.
"He'll book in for surgery in the next week or two, he'll get through all that and have plenty of time to think about it. Last year was his call to come back and continue to play, so we'll allow him to make the call and see where it lands," Kingsley said.
