Gold Coast captain Noah Anderson is said to be "ready" to go against GWS on Sunday after suffering a heavy knock from Geelong's Tom Stewart a fortnight ago.

Anderson was collected by the Cats defender, which left the Suns skipper battered, and was subsequently spotted by the ARC to be assessed for a head injury.

He has been cleared of any serious damage to his chest, while there have been no follow-up concussion symptoms, which teammate Joel Jeffrey indicated.

"No concerns with him," Jeffrey said.

"I was obviously encouraged by him to do what he did," Jeffrey said.

"The boys got around him. He's in great nick, and he'll be ready to go come the weekend."

The Suns will return from the bye in sixth position on the ladder, but are coming off back-to-back losses before the mid-season break.

Close defeats to Fremantle and the Cats now make the Giants clash, which is coined the Expansion Cup, even more important in the scheme of the 2025 season.

GWS' past month has yielded three victories, including a win over reigning premiers Brisbane at the Gabba last week.

The Suns have never beaten the Giants at the Sydney Showgrounds, losing all seven encounters.

"Obviously beating the reigning premiers, you're always going to feel pretty confident the week after," Jeffrey said.

"We're going to have to bring our best footy. They're playing great footy at the moment, but so are we."

Jeffrey's development is synonymous with Gold Coast's rise towards a maiden finals campaign after 14 seasons.

The dashing defender has always known his offensive prowess, but he knew that to play consistent AFL football, he needed to add more strings to his bow.

"Working on my defensive game was going to be the big improvement," Jeffrey said.

"I always could do great things with the footy offensively, but just defensively, I just had to improve my game, which I feel like I have and have great trust from my teammates."
