West Coast Eagles CEO Don Pyke has added fuel to the speculative fire surrounding Brisbane Lions legend Lachie Neale's potential move back to Western Australia.
The two-time flag winner and two-time Brownlow Medallist is in the throes of personal turmoil following the collapse of his marriage in the off-season, with a move back to WA to be closer to his children, front of mind.
Lions coach Chris Fagan has given Neale his blessing to explore his options, having given the Lions exemplary service since his defection from Fremantle before the 2019 season.

In a two team state, the Eagles will be competing with the Fremantle Dockers for Neale's services, with the romance of reunion in Cockburn potentially swaying the 32-year-old's decision.
Speaking to SEN's WA Mornings program on Monday, Pyke confirmed his club's interest.
“We're aware of Lachie's personal situation," Pyke said.
"If his desire is to return to WA and continue playing, then we would be interested in talking to him.”
“He's obviously at Brisbane at the moment and he's a wonderful player. He's playing some great footy for them and it looks like he's got more games in him.
“If that's the decision he makes from a family and personal viewpoint then we'd be keen to have a chat.”
The Lions star is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning there are mere months until his decision is required.
