Richmond star Dustin Martin has continued his stellar season, taking out the 2017 Brownlow Medal.
Martin won the Medal with a record 36 votes, three ahead of Geelong midfielder and reigning champion, Patrick Dangerfield, who was ineligible to win the award due to suspension.
The Richmond onballer broke the previous record of 35 votes, which was set last year by Dangerfield.
Hawthorn's Tom Mitchell came in third with 25 votes.
Martin becomes the sixth Richmond player to win a Bronwlow Medal. He became the first player to ever receive 11 best on grounds in one season.
The 26-year-old averaged 30 disposals, 3.6 tackles and kicked 32 goals in 2017.
Martin will aim to become the 14th player to win the Brownlow and play in a premiership in the same season when Richmond face Adelaide at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.
