Essendon forward Joe Daniher will likely miss Saturday night's Dreamtime at the 'G clash with Richmond, but could be ruled out for the season with his latest groin complaint.

According to AFL.com.au, the Bombers are currently working through the injury with Daniher, the same one that saw him miss 15 matches in 2018.

Daniher returned to action in round five against North Melbourne, before playing against Collingwood on ANZAC Day and Geelong in quick succession.

He then had a rest against the Swans in round eight, before returning on Saturday night to face Fremantle.

If the Bombers do in fact decide to park Daniher for the remainder of the season, the club will have another selection in the mid-season draft.

The Bombers can currently use two picks, after the season-ending injuries to Devon Smith and Sam Draper.
