Collingwood coach Craig McRae says that veteran forward-ruck Mason Cox is likely to replace the injured Dan McStay for Saturday's clash against Geelong.
McStay, after a frustrating few seasons at his second club, suffered an MCL injury that will sideline him for up to eight weeks.
Cox is the most suitable replacement given his ability to help Darcy Cameron in the ruck.
"I think so," McRae said.
"We've still got a few questions at match committee. I think the ability to help Darcy Cameron out in the ruck is something we want to continue to do."
But the Pies coach didn't stop at suggesting that draftee Charlie West would also come into consideration in the coming weeks, especially given the club has a five-day turnaround in Perth after the Cats contest.
West was taken at Pick 50 in last year's intake, and has impressed in his four VFL outings to date, kicking 11 majors and averaging 10 disposals.
"His name will be mentioned as an opportunity to come in for this week, or coming weeks," McRae said.
"We're rapt with what he's doing. His 18 and he's competing beyond his years. We're cautious that he's playing VFL, not AFL, but he's playing above VFL level.
"Him and Will Hayes will be mentioned. No doubt."
Captain Darcy Moore will also return to the senior side after missing Anzac Day with vertigo.
Collingwood will also celebrate the ever-impressive and consistent Jack Crisp, who will surpass the late Melbourne great Jim Stynes' 244 consecutive games.
Crisp first started his run while at Brisbane, and was famously included as steak knives in the Dayne Beams trade ahead of the 2015 season.
The two-time Copeland Trophy winner will be celebrated by the club, which will also welcome Stynes' family.
"We celebrate these things," McRae said.
"I was lucky to chat to Sam Stynes last night, and we're going to get Sam in to celebrate Jim and show the incredible longevity of his career, but also what he did for so many of us in the game. And show some footage of Jim in his heyday.
"And get Sam to take us into his world. And then we'll celebrate Jack."
