Carlton has broken its membership record for the ninth consecutive year, reaching 95,278 members so far in 2024.

Not only does this announcement acknowledge the long-standing members, but it also commends the new members, with over 16,547 fans signing up for the first time.

The current tally is up over 11,885 members compared to the same time last year.

In the two Melbourne games (one at the MCG and one at Marvel Stadium), Blues fans have packed out the stands to cheer on their club.

The traditional Round 1 Thursday night clash with Richmond at the home of football witnessed just shy of 84,000 fans rock up to see the Carlton five-point victory.

Two weeks later, on Good Friday under the roof, 47,565 supporters surged through the gates to watch Harry McKay slot five goals against the Kangaroos.

Even on neutral territory, in Adelaide during the AFL's Gather Round, saw 45,970 witness Carlton hold off Fremantle in a thriller at Adelaide Oval.

The club also acknowledges the contribution from the women's side, gaining 2,921 members ahead of their 2024 campaign later this year.

But the job isn't done yet.

The Blues have put 100,000 members on the agenda, pleading fans to become a part of Carlton history, by reaching this incredible achievement for the first time.

Carlton AFL captain Patrick Cripps thanked all the members.

“We want to say a huge thank you to all our members, new and existing, for their continued support,” Cripps said.

“Our fans are truly like no other: they are loud, proud and our competitive advantage out on the field.

“Today marks a really important time for the Club and we look forward to growing it even more as we try to get to 100k members this year.”

AFLW captain Kerryn Peterson acknowledged the "Bluebagger army" and all its support.

“Today's result has been felt all over the Club, and we cannot thank the Bluebagger army enough,” Peterson said.

“Clubs earn success, not teams, and today's significant milestone is a testament to this.

“The early support for the AFLW side in 2024 is huge and we can't wait to grow that even more as we head into the pre-season."

Carlton is one of three undefeated teams in the AFL and will host Adelaide at Marvel Stadium on Saturday.
