Brisbane star Lachie Neale claimed his second Brownlow Medal on Monday night in what was an entertaining count that came down to the wire.

A three-vote performance in Round 24 saw Neale claim 'Charlie' for the second time in four counts, with the best-afield outing seeing him surpass Bulldog Marcus Bontempelli for the title.

Collingwood's Nick Daicos held the lead before the final round, with the young Magpies star one of five players able to take out the Brownlow at the final round.

Melbourne's Christian Petracca and Sydney's Errol Gulden were also in the mix by the last round, with Neale's finishing the night two votes ahead of Bontempelli.
